Last November I reported that Sarah Palin benefited from a law enacted while she was Governor to cause the taxpayers of Alaska to give a tax credits to anyone filming a television show or movie in Alaska. . Based upon the information available at that time it appeared that the taxpayers of Alaska paid $880,000 of the $2,000,000 fees paid by TLC to Sarah Palin directly. At the time I had no way of knowing what additional tax credits were paid to TLC as a reimbursement of their costs in filming the show.
However the most amusing thing to me is that Sarah Palin has repeatedly indicated her view that Government should “get out of the way.” Evidently that is her advice to everyone else. She is glad for the government to interfere with her making her way, so long as the “governmental interference” is to pay her money.
